The Blues ended a four-game losing streak to Arizona with goals from Ivan Barbashev and Brayden Schenn. St. Louis has won its fourth (4th) game in a row, all thanks to Ville Husso’s 21 saves (4-0-1).

The Coyotes lost for the eighth time in ten games, with Nick Schmaltz scoring and Ivan Prosvetov making 24 saves.

Early in the second period, St. Louis scored three goals in four minutes.

Barbashev put the Blues ahead at 2:17. Barbashev started the sequence by keeping a Coyotes clearing attempt in the zone before scoring on a Calle Rosen rebound.

Tarasenko made it 2-0 with a one-timer from behind the Coyotes’ net off of a Robert Thomas feed.

At 6:33, Schenn scored on the power play to make it 3-0. Schenn now has six 20-goal seasons.

With 5:21 left in the second, Buchnevich scored on a shorthanded breakaway after Ryan O’Reilly forced a turnover at center ice.

In the final seconds of the second, Husso gloved a breakaway by Michael Carcone.

In a scoreless first period, Urosvetov made 10 stops in his NHL debut to stop all 10 shots, including two pad saves on point-blank attempts by Colton Parayko and Brayden Schenn.

MISTER MILESTONE

RW Phil Kessel is nearing several milestones. He needs two goals, one assist, and three points to reach 400, 550, and 950.

HE’S BACK

Former Blues D Carl Gunnarsson returned to town after retiring last season. Gunnarsson helped the Blues win the Stanley Cup in 2019.

JOTS:
