The Phoenix Suns (21-23) will visit the FedEx forum again to meet the Memphis Grizzlies (29-13) who are rampaging on every opponent since late December.

The Memphis Grizzlies are on an impressive stint of wins, having claimed their ninth consecutive victory with a 130-112 victory over Indiana on Saturday. This comes after their 125-108 loss over the short-handed Suns last December.

Indeed, their record of 18-3 at home is not something to be overlooked. With the NBA season heading into its second half, it will be interesting to see if the Memphis Grizzlies can continue this momentum and create something spectacular for their passionate fanbase.

Meanwhile, it seems like the Suns are being consumed by darkness lately, with their record falling slowly. They started hot and show that they are still a team to beat in the west. However, a series of injuries, hold them back. They lost eight of their last ten games and are currently on 8th seed of the Western Conference.

Suns at Grizzlies Preview

The Western Conference is full of rivalries between the top teams in previous years. Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are long been battling with the Los Angeles Clippers, The Warriors have some intriguing moments with the Grizzlies, while the Suns and Pelicans games have been highly anticipated.

However, the Suns and Grizzlies are also something that fans have to consider. With Ja Morant stating that he has no problem with the West, it is certain that he does not see the Suns as a threat, both in the regular season and the NBA Playoffs. However, that comments may have changed after the Curry-less warriors and the undermanned Suns crushed them during the Christmas season.

“I know they remember what happened to them the last time we played them here,” Suns wing Torrey Craig said. “They’re going to try to respond and try to get us back. We’ve just got to come out and keep our same principles as last time and be ready for a fight.”

Grizzlies Are Too Much for the Suns Right Now

While the season series between the Suns and Grizzlies are still even, with the guest team stealing the game on each of the two games, the Grizzlies are just too much for the Suns right now.

With Devin Booker (groin), Chris Paul (hip), Cameron Payne (knee), Cameroon Johnson (foot), and Landry Shamet (hip) all out, the Suns do not have the firepower to match the Grizz, and Coach Monty Williams knows that. Doing the same things that surprised Memphis will not be effective this time around.

“We know what happened here last time,” Coach Williams said. “We’re sure they’re going to come in and have some counters to what we did. Tends to be a bit of a chippy game when we play against them. We just have to wait and see, but our guys, they’re ready for the challenge. We just have to be ready for the moments that happen in the game.”
