The Winnipeg Jets became the Phoenix Coyotes before the 1996-97 season, and then before the 2014-15 season they became the Arizona Coyotes. The Coyotes have had a couple streaks of playoff level play since the move to Arizona. Starting with their last season in Winnipeg, they made the playoffs 6 times in 7 years with Jeremy Roenick and a young Shane Doan, and then again between 2010-12 they made the playoffs in three straight years, culminating in a conference finals loss in 2012.
Since that conference finals appearance, they’ve made the playoffs one time. It was in the shortened COVID season of 2019-20, and they lost in the first round. The Coyotes finished dead last in the Western conference last season, and their outlook for the upcoming season is just as bleak.
What Bets Can I Make on the Coyotes?
The Coyotes have the longest odds of any team to win the Stanley Cup Finals at +100000. Finishing dead last last year and not doing much in the offseason to improve their stock is keeping them in the least likely spot to win it all.
The Coyotes aren’t a popular bet to win much this season, but you could also bet on them winning the Western Conference (+30000), the Central Division (+50000), the President’s trophy (+50000), or making the playoffs (+2000). If you believe they have a real shot at turning things around this season, even just betting on them making the playoffs would be an incredibly valuable bet.
Where Can You Bet on Arizona Teams?
Currently there are 9 online sportsbooks in Arizona: DraftKings, Caesars, BetMGM, BetRivers, BetFred, FanDuel, Unibet, WynnBet, and Barstool Sports. Online sports betting has only been legal in the state for a year and a half though, so others may become available in the future.
If you’re betting in Arizona though, you’ll want to keep your eye out for SaharaBets Digital Sportsbook. The Coyotes announced a partnership with SarahBets earlier this year, and the digital betting app is scheduled to launch this January.
Where Can You Watch Coyotes Games?
The Coyotes have a few games on ESPN and TNT, but the majority of games will be broadcasted on Bally Sports Arizona and Bally Sports Extra. You can also tune into 620 AM or 98.7 FM to listen to Coyotes games on the radio.
What’s the Best Bet to Make?
Given that the Coyotes are in a pretty bad state, you may not want to go any further than betting on them making the playoffs. The only popular sportsbook that’s offering bets on teams to make or miss the NHL playoffs is DraftKings, and they have the Coyotes making the playoffs at +2000 and missing it at -6000.
Online sports betting is legal in Arizona, and there are 9 sports books available for Arizona bettors: DraftKings, Caesars, BetMGM, BetRivers, BetFred, FanDuel, Unibet, WynnBet, and Barstool Sports. In January you should also be able to use SaharaBets once it launches.
Right now you can bet on the Coyotes winning the Stanley Cup Finals, the Western Conference, the Central Division, the President’s trophy, or making the playoffs.
The Coyotes has never won a Stanley Cup Finals. They closest they’ve come was the conference finals in 2012
Shane Doan has to be the answer here. He was a life-long Coyotes/Jets player, he was productive since his rookie season, and he was a part of both of their playoff streaks as the Coyotes in the late 90s and in the early 2010s
