Arizona sports betting market reported another $600M+ handle for the second straight month as DraftKings and FanDuel sportsbooks lead the pack.

In November 2022, Arizona’s online sports betting industry continued its upward trajectory by reporting over $611 million in online sports bets, a staggering figure in its own right.

This surpasses the previous year’s numbers with a whopping 32.2%. As per  Ted Vogt’s (Director, Arizona Department of Gaming) statement, he said that it’s thrilling to see that the state finished another month with over 600 million wagers.

“This milestone highlights Arizona’s strong sports betting market, which has already established itself as a top-ten market nationally”

The total handle of $616.8 million (including retail AZ sportsbooks) is slightly lower compared to the October sports betting report but keeps Arizona above the 600M mark.

AZ Sports Betting Report

Online sports betting in Arizona has continued to demonstrate impressive growth and profitability in recent months. According to the latest data, the industry grossed nearly $617 million in handle across its 18 licensed operators, with all but $6 million coming from online sports wagering.

Of the total handle, over $560 million was paid out from operators to Arizona online sports bettors who placed winning bets, resulting in a whopping $56 million in Adjusted Gross Event Wagering Receipts for the state’s 18 online sportsbooks in AZ.

However, the success of Arizona’s online sports betting industry extends beyond just revenue generated from winning bets. Operators also saw substantial profits, earning approximately $35 million after nearly $16 million in bonus bets and nearly $3.9 million in privilege fees paid to the state of Arizona.

This impressive profitability is a testament to the industry’s success in creating a safe and secure online sports betting environment for residents and visitors alike. With a wide variety of sports and events to bet on, as well as attractive bonus offers and promotions, it is no surprise that the industry continues to grow and thrive in Arizona.

Leading Sportsbooks in Arizona

While the handle shows a lot of promises for the market, it is clear that two of the best sportsbooks in the US are just dominating the State.

DraftKings Arizona was leading the pack, accounting for over 32% of the state’s monthly handle. Arizona bettors wagered over $200 million via their online sportsbook, solidifying DraftKings’ position as a dominant force in the state’s online sports betting industry.

Close on the heels of DraftKings was FanDuel AZ, which attracted more than $193 million in sports bets. FanDuel also led all operators in bonus bets and promotional credits offered to Arizona bettors, with nearly $5.5 million in incentives offered in November.

These two sports betting giants covered 64% of the total bets placed in the Grand Canyon State. BetMGM accounted for $94 million in wagers, while Caesars sports bets totaled nearly 62 million.
